Is it possible ? Get a big idea without calling a meeting? Yvonne Adele, inventor of "Ideas While You Sleep' believes the classic brainstorm is dead and buried.

According to Yvonne, it is shown that brainstorming SOLO first will produce around 80% MORE ideas than a round table meeting. When brainstorming solo, random word association is the quickest and most simple creative thinking method you can use.

Ready to give it a go ...

1. First, turn off your email, phone, twitter and other things that beep.

2. Now, write down one thing you have used recently (hat, bag, pen, soap)

3. Now, for 30 seconds, under that word, write any other words that come gto mind .. one after the othr .. let it flow freely, just word-associate. If you started with the word 'hat', you'll now write : felt, feather, sun, cap, cowboy.

4. Now, you have your list of random words .. you are ready to define your challenge. Think of the challenge you want to solve.

5. Write it down as a sentence with a question mark at the end .. e.g. In what ways can I be smarter about keeping in touch with my top clients?

6. Now, take the top word from your list and refer back to your challenge. FORCE a connection between the word and the challenge.

7. You will get an idea from that word. Let the random word direct your thinking towards an idea to solve that challenge.

8. If the word does not give you an idea immediately, think: what is the opposite of this word-or think: what letter does this word start with.

9. Go for 3 ideas per word before moving to the next word. Go for at least 2 minutes.

10. Keep going, with a least the first 5 words - using the word to spark your thinking to solve the challenge. Remember, 3 ideas per word.
